Motion of emotion
The Motion of Emotion project had something to do in every class. We wrote a slam poem that we graphed onto a poster and made into a video.
Those times passed... For a moment, imagine you're in elementary school again. Those days may have been great for you, but they also may have been shadowed by the clouds of burden. At the time, your biggest hardships may have been not getting the lead role in the school play, or maybe you couldn't memorize those damn times tables, but there was a bigger issue you may’ve had to deal with People defined you by your labels. People insulted you. You said it never hurt. but you knew it did. It did hurt. Either way those people eventually left you alone and you had other things to worry about. You were in elementary school after all. Fast forward to high school for a minute. By now you’ve made new friends who treat you equally. But you had problems in high school too though. Maybe you didn’t get elected for school president or maybe you were given a nickname you hated. But like elementary school, those people were there Their words became harder to bear. They made your life a living hell. You didn’t realize how bad it could get. Until now. If you're anything like me, you started to think that there may be truth behind the words they say. That thought stopped you in your tracks. That thought drove you crazy. That thought may have been difference between A’s and F’s. If it wasn’t you, it was your fellow students. Hell, you may’ve been that person that made it hard for someone else to sleep at night. Those days eventually passed too. You may’ve gone to college, but the truth is you may not recall anything from elementary or high school. Especially the people who bullied you. Those times always passed. Things changed. You've changed. Time will always grow with you.

Unfortunately, I can't present the video, because it was never finished. The production began with Andrew - a co author of the poem - suggesting that we animate our video. We started work, but due dates were coming and we had very little of the video finished. A few days before the final draft was due, the teacher approached us with the issue and told us that we needed to do something different. We abandoned our 3 second, hand drawn animation for stop motion. It was getting done faster, but we still couldn't finish it before winter break. If we were to continue, our current grades would suffer tremendously. If I could change anything, I would have done more of the animation work while Andrew was animating.
